Greetings, all, and welcome to my writer's blog. This is where I will expound, rhapsodize, or vent about the joys and pitfalls of working to establish myself as a professional writer of fiction that features gay men.
I will tell your right up front that my name, Brian Storne, is a pseudonym. Why? Because I want to be as honest as I can with you all and because I value my privacy.
1. Be excellent to each other! Bill and Ted knew what they were talking about.
2. I will not discuss politics in here. We've just been through a contentious election in the US that has left a lot of people feeling disturbed and fearful of what the future might bring, especially to members of the gay community. The way I figure it, if I tell you what my political leanings are, I'm likely to alienate some portion of my potential readers, either way, and that would be stupid of me from a business standpoint. I don't see a reason to do that, and I would rather be judged for the quality of my writing, rather than for my political beliefs.
So, if you comment on one of my posts and bring up politics, I will simply ignore your political reference. If you get obnoxious, I will either tell you to stow it, or I will block you from further commenting. I don't put up with rudeness--from either side of the political spectrum--on my blog. If you want to rant about politics that fervently, go create your own blog, and leave mine out of it.
3. Hate speech will get you blocked. Assholery of any sort, frankly, will get you blocked. I don't have time for that nonsense. See that last sentence in the paragraph above.
4. Conversation about Star Trek and Firefly is always welcome.
That's all for now. Peace and best wishes during the holiday season!
